Home Alone/Modeling Time

On Saturday, my people went to some place that they call a "baby shower". I don't understand why everyone has to go out and help a baby take a shower, but it meant that I had to be home...ALL ALONE! I did pretty well. They were impressed that I didn't make a mess. Why were they impressed? Sometimes they underestimate me!

While they were gone, I decided to hang out in the kitchen and have a little fun. My secret dream is to be a dog model, just like that rat terrier who seems to be in every single dog calendar or magazine! Well, I need to give him a run for his dog treats!

Hows this? I kinda blend in with the kitchen floor.

What if I tilt my head a little bit...

the pretending-to-not-know-that-there-is-a-camera-in-my-face look:

Okay. My short attention span is over. Time to find something else to do!

Okay, being home alone is boring if you're playing the role of "good dog". I better get a treat for this.

Sweater Stealer!

The other day Lady Whiskers stole my sweater! I mean, I know I'm constantly expressing how much I hate my sweaters but when I saw Whiskers rockin' them, it made me realize that...I DO like them! They belong to me and seeing her parading around the room flaunting what belongs to me was kind of upsetting!

and then she tried to fight me for it!

my people really need to start building her her own wardrobe!

Anywagz, Wednesday was my official "Gotcha Day" but I wasn't able to really celebrate it by doing what I love the most (rolling in the dirt with MY sweaters) because water kept falling from the sky and everything was so dark and ugly. So I ventured out on Thursday instead. And guess what I got (besides a yummy Busy Bone)?...

A NEW SWEATER! Another striped one! I'm going to need my own closet soon.

modeling time!

One Year

It seems like only a year ago my people were searching our local shelter for their new pet. OH WAIT...it was a year ago!

When they walked into the shelter, they didn't have a particular breed in mind. They fell for a few cute, small dogs, but none of them grabbed my people's attention like the little "chihuahua" they found in the STRAY MALES kennel. Sure, I wasn't the cutest dog in the kennel, but they couldn't help but fall for those giant ears and light-colored eyes. My constant shaking and whining probably did the trick as well ;)

This was my "mug shot" from the shelter website. I was sooo ugly! Good thing my people visited the shelter in person, that way I could work my charm. This picture alone would have never gotten me adopted! I wonder about my brother though (the one in the pic with me). He was ugly too.

I had to wait a day to go home because I had to get manhood taken away from me. But when I arrived at my new home, I don't remember much. I was all groggy. I just remember hearing a ton of voices buzzing in my ear, and laying in a really soft bed!

"Is this real life???"

Being a stray/shelter dog comes with diseases too. I don't know what was wrong with me, but I couldn't stop coughing, wheezing, hacking, choking, sneezing, and having oogie boogies coming out of my nose. I was a skinny disease on four legs!

But after a couple months of medication, I was finally on my feet!

I always wanted to be someone's one and only, but I wasn't. Coming into a new house/family meant that I had to deal with the cat sisters too. Here are my first pictures with Wise Cat and Lady Whiskers.

I had a pretty interesting ride during my first year of being a house pet. I've made my people smile, and I've made my people frown. I've made some good friends and have even lost one (Wise Cat RIP). I still have a lot to learn but I know I'll get there....some day....maybe when my people are all old and wrinkled over. I've been told that I'm a good dog, just stubborn. I don't see the point in doing things if treats aren't involved, that's all! Oh yeah, we also found out that I wasn't a chihuahua...I'm a toy Rat Terrier!!!!!!!!!! or a brat terror.

I'm grateful for all of my fellow dog and cat blogger friends on here. A special bark out to my friend Remington for being my very first friend. Because of him, I have met a few more friends on here whose exciting lives I enjoy reading about. I don't have a huge following compared to most of the awesome animals on here, but I really do appreciate the ones who read my posts. Thank you to anyone who has ever stopped by to read, laugh, comment, and follow. I hope to meet more cool pets and their owners along the way!  But a special thanks to my regular commenters:

P.S. I can't wait for my "gotcha day" on Wednesday. I heard that presents are involved!

Where Are You Taking Me??

So today I went a cruisin'....

I go on car rides almost every day, but this pawticular ride was different. It was a little longer, and I LOVED it! Where could they possibly be taking me? The pet store? The dog park?

*yawn* wake me up when we get there...
OH NO!! SO THIS IS WHERE THEY WERE TAKING ME!!! I'VE BEEN TRICKED! (and not the kind of tricks that get me treats!).

I don't really wanna go in...

Well I'm in...I wonder what I could do to get out of this. Should I play dead? Wee on the floor?

What are they going to do to me? I'm turning green just thinking about it!

Here I am on the counter. Please don't let them give me a shot! I promise I won't eat the leftover sandwiches you guys leave on the table! I promise I won't beat up the cat anymore! I promise I won't bark anymore! Well...I won't promise that...but please!!!

BOOM!

I ended up getting three shots. I was a drama prince for nothing. I barely felt a thing. The nurse did mention dog treats, but I never got them =( why do you build me up, buttercup baby, just to let me down? Oh well. My people were very proud of me. They thought I would turn into a mutant like I often do when strangers approach me. But now I'm up to date. All I have to do is wait for my "gotcha day" to come. Hurry please!

Oh, and I now weigh 10 and a half pounds! A year ago I was a starving diseased dog weighing 7 pounds. It's all in the dog biscuits ;)

What is This "Bowl" That You Speak Of?

Everyone keeps talking about this "Superbowl" I have no idea what that is really. the only bowl I know of, is the one that my people put my breakfast in. But I did get tons of snacks! Well, just like I do every other day ;)

Next year I will make sure to tune in to the Puppy Bowl, though!

Anywagz, I'm getting mighty nervous. I'm going to be visiting the vet sometime soon. I need to have my shots since it's almost a year since my "gotcha day"! yay! Until then....here are some random photos of my week! As you can see, my bridge has been my favorite spot lately.

I would rather be chasing birds...

Hey, where did my collar go?

I'll probably be posting a video of me on my walk. I've pawgressed so much (so my people say!). I still need to stop barking at my enemy behind the white picket fence though. Easier said than done!
